====== RepeaterBook Connect ====== RepeaterBook offers a smartphone app for iOS and Android. You can download the app from: * Apple App Store * Google Play The app is an "offline" app, which means it does not require a data connection to operate, once you have downloaded the app. It does require GPS to work fully. The benefit of the offline architecture is the ability to locate repeaters near you without a data connection. In a true emergency or during backcountry travel, a data connection may not be available to you. The app will still function. The app is updated about every two weeks with the database changes. Although the Repeaterbook.com web site is updated daily, the app doesn't immediately receive the updates. This is due to the offline architecture. So, if you see that a pending update is available for the app, you should download it immediately to receive all the latest repeater information updates. === Please rate and review RepeaterBook on the app store. === repeaterbook:rbuserguide repeaterbook:FAQ BlueCat - Connect your Yaesu or ICOM radio to RepeaterBook Supported Radios | **Radio** | **BlueTooth Connection** | **USB Connection** | | ICOM 705 | Built in | Not Tested | | ICOM ID50 | N/A | USB C Cable | | ICOM ID52/Plus | Built in | Not Tested | | ICOM 905 | N/A | USB C to USB C cable | | ICOM 2730 | Not Tested |ICOM Compatible USB Cable | | ICOM 7100 | Icom BT Module Required |ICOM Compatible USB Cable | | ICOM 5100 | Icom BT Module Required |ICOM Compatible USB Cable | | ICOM 4100 | Icom BT Module Required |ICOM Compatible USB Cable | | Kenwood D74 | Built in | Not Tested | | Kenwood D710 | Not Tested |Kenwood D710 Compatible USB Cable | | Yaesu FTX-1 | N/A |USB C to USB C cable | | Yaesu FT857/FT897 | BT Interface Required |Yaesu FT8X7 Compatible USB Cable | | Yaesu FT817/FT818 | BT Interface Required |Yaesu FT8X7 Compatible USB Cable | | Yaesu FT991/FT991a| N/A |USB C to USB C cable | =====ICOM 705===== ====ICOM 705 - Get Bluetooth MAC address==== Menu, Bluetooth Set, scroll down to Bluetooth device Information, send me the BD Address: ====ICOM 705 - Connect to RepeaterBook app for the first time==== ===ICOM 705=== Menu, Bluetooth Set\\ Bluetooth ON\\ Select Pairing Reception\\ The 2 minute countdown starts as the 705 waits for a pairing request from the RepeaterBook app\\ ===RepeaterBook App=== Menu\\ Select Connect BlueCAT\\ Select ICOM 705 from the list\\ ===ICOM 705=== Select Confirm ===RepeaterBook App=== Select Pair \\ Connected message is displayed and repeater list displayed\\ Select a repeater to set your 705!\\ ====RepeaterBook App - Auto Connect to your 705==== Once RepeaterBook has successfully paired once, you can set it to auto connect every time it starts. We will certainly look at a custom CI-V option, although there is the further complication that some features are/will be radio specific. Hams can also use the "ICOM Generic" option - which uses the broadcast 0 address, to help test CIV address issues, this provides just the basic functions. The ICOM CI-V interface is used by RepeaterBook Connect to control ICOM radios. Unfortunately the ID880 does not have a ICOM CI-V interface. So, it is not possible to control it from RepeaterBook Connect. The ICOM 2730, 4100, 5100, 7100 and others have a CI-V interface and have been tested with RepeaterBook Connect. They can be connected via USB or Bluetooth (if fitted) We are working on Maps and Tap to Tune for Apple. Due to Apple restrictions Tap to Tune will only be for radios that can be controlled over Bluetooth. Either built in or via a third party interface. Android makes it much easier to develop Bluetooth and USB connections. Your RepeaterBook Connect subscription works on all Android devices signed in with the same Google account.
